Last time I photographed this little guy he was a teeny tiny newborn, and now look at him! Walking and talking (well, sort of) and posing for the camera. And how cute is that necktie?!

A touch of Grunge
I have been wanting to try out some new techniques to “grunge-up” my photos a little. My Magster was looking particularly cool and sullen here:

Very pre-pre-pre-teen of her, don’t you think?
And here are a few from a shoot with an actual teenager- such a lovely, fun girl (and not a bit sullen!)

The lovely Miss A is 6 Months old!
Geez, it seems like just a few months ago she was only 3 months old… how time flies! Who knew she could get any cuter?? 6 month old babies are just about my favorite subjects anyway: they stay put, they smile, they drool. What’s not to love? But this little girl is even better than most. We have a date in April at the Arboretum and I can’t wait to see how much cuter this little chunky monkey can get!

PS It seems that I forgot to announce the new name of the package formerly known as “The Infant Portrait Package”….. It’s…
The Baby Bundle! ta-da!
Sneaky Valentine's Day
As we are thawing out from our little icestorm, I realized that January is almost gone. Time to switch out the snowflakes for red and pink hearts. Time to turn up the heat in the studio and break out the cherub wings. Sadly, my oppinionated little cherubs declined the wings this year. That’s why we take pictures, to remember when our babies were more compliant!
But that’s okay, I had an excuse to make a new tutu!

So before Valentine’s Day passes you by, let’s get your baby in the cherub wings, or call to schedule a boudoir session — ooooo baby!
Belly Portraits
BRRRRRRRRRRRR!
What is this? Winter?! I really can’t complain since I haven’t had to cancel or reschedule anything due to weather, and all the babies look rosy-cheeked. And when the babies start getting a little blue around the edges I just switch to black and white! The fall colors at the arboretum are fabulous and the kiddos have been so great. Here are a couple of recent frostbite victims:

And now for something completely different…

To my surprise and delight I was recently asked to do an couple’s portrait session… in the boudoir!! What a way to celebrate their recent marriage!
This is a bit of a departure from my normal gigs, so I was thrilled to take it on. We used the studio here at the house and had the best time. It helps, of course, that the couple was gorgeous with amazing chemistry. They were very happy with the results (I made her cry! Yay!) and gave me permission to share a few of the photos here. So if you are interested in departing from the usual portrait, don’t be shy! The boudoir is open for business!

It’s been a quiet week on the photography front, which is good because Mags and I have been laid out on the couch with the croupy crud. We woke up to fog this morning and Mark called me on his way in to work and recommended I go for a little walk with the camera. It was spectacular what the fog did to all of the spider webs around the house. So glad I didn’t get around to calling the Orkin Man last week!
How Sweet she is!
I had a session last Sunday with my newest, littlest client. She just enrolled in the infant portrait package (could I have picked a duller name?!), so I will be seeing more of her in the year to come. Bless her heart, she was such a good sport. She took a little 15 minute siesta mid-shoot and woke up refreshed and ready to go another hour. I just love the infant portrait package (the “baby to big kid package”? the “little lump to little person package”??) because I get to see these little guys change so much over that first year. What a privilege! And maybe someday I’ll be taking their Senior portraits… “I knew you when you were only this big!”![]()
Please don't kick the camera!!!

Well here is something new — soccer portraits! What a lovely group of girls, and very enthusiastic. You would think that chasing after my kids with a camera would better prepare me for taking action shots. Alas, no. But it was great fun to try something new, and we only had a few near misses with balls flying at my head!!
