A Smashing Good Time!

I can’t believe it. Miss A is already a year old!! We had her birthday session here in the studio. I think that she was anxious to get back to her birthday party because she wasn’t terribly interested in having her picture taken. But we did find a few things that caught her fancy.

Like my pushing around my new little red chair…

Chair + Lens Cap = Happy Miss A!

I hope someone got her a chair for her Birthday

This? This is when my heart stopped.

So! Moving on!

To take her mind off the chair mom brought out the cake.

Is this more fun than a chair?

Is this more fun than a chair?

Yes, even better than a chair.

Yes, even better than a chair.

But do you want to know what is even better than cake? Take a look at this:

I love my job.

Happy Birthday Miss A!

A touch of Grunge

I have been wanting to try out some new techniques to “grunge-up” my photos a little. My Magster was looking particularly cool and sullen here:
Before:
pre-grunge
After:

Very pre-pre-pre-teen of her, don’t you think?

And here are a few from a shoot with an actual teenager- such a lovely, fun girl (and not a bit sullen!)

Sneaky Valentine's Day

As we are thawing out from our little icestorm, I realized that January is almost gone. Time to switch out the snowflakes for red and pink hearts. Time to turn up the heat in the studio and break out the cherub wings. Sadly, my oppinionated little cherubs declined the wings this year. That’s why we take pictures, to remember when our babies were more compliant!

But that’s okay, I had an excuse to make a new tutu!
My funny Valentines
So before Valentine’s Day passes you by, let’s get your baby in the cherub wings, or call to schedule a boudoir session — ooooo baby!

Belly Portraits

I was so excited this week to photograph this beautiful mom and daughter, along with the soon-to-arrive baby brother. This was my first maternity session where I didn’t have to be on both sides of the camera (no easy feat when you are 8 months pregnant!), and I had such a great time.
Baby Boy Pregnancy isn’t for sissies! Sexy Belly!

And now for something completely different…

To my surprise and delight I was recently asked to do an couple’s portrait session… in the boudoir!! What a way to celebrate their recent marriage!
This is a bit of a departure from my normal gigs, so I was thrilled to take it on. We used the studio here at the house and had the best time. It helps, of course, that the couple was gorgeous with amazing chemistry. They were very happy with the results (I made her cry! Yay!) and gave me permission to share a few of the photos here. So if you are interested in departing from the usual portrait, don’t be shy! The boudoir is open for business!

Portrait party fun

Miss P in the FrouFrou Tutu Bemused Lobster
Okay, This month we had another portrait party with 4 of the cutest cutie-patooties you’ve ever seen. Miss P brought new bows and took a spin in Maggie’s frou frou tutu. Mr. C is sitting up now, still no neck in sight but is just as yummy as ever. Splitting the session up 4 ways is less pressure on the kiddos, and when someone gets fussy they are wisked away and a fresh, happy kiddo is brought in. It’s great fun!
