Why are there only posts from 2009?? Where have all the new posts gone?? I mean, I know that I’ve been lax about posting, but not THAT lax…

In an effort to make my life easier, I recently decided to switch hosting companies. I know that you will be shocked to learn that things did not go entirely smoothly. Hence the missing blog bits, and the disappearing webpage. Oh yes, my life is ever so much easier!

But let’s not dwell on the past! The sneak peeks are all safe over on the Facebook page, and I am ready to start anew! Come with me, and let’s start fresh!!

Oh What a Beautiful Belly!

Amid the chaos of returning from vacation, dealing with a broken A/C and preparing to send my boy to kindergarten, there was this little oasis of light and joy. This beautiful couple and their wiggley baby bump. It’s so exciting to share in the anticipation, to know that someday that little girl will look at these photos and marvel at her origins.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

I completely understand that rain in August in Texas is never a bad thing. I’m not going to complain.

Well, maybe I’ll complain just a little. Things were looking great for a shoot at the Arboretum Saturday morning. It was cooler, nice cloud coverage with just a little sun, not too crowded… perfect!! For about 10 minutes. Then came the deluge. Luckily we had staked out some picturesque, if humid, shelter to wait out the storm. The kiddos held up pretty well, all things considered.

I can’t believe it. Miss A is already a year old!! We had her birthday session here in the studio. I think that she was anxious to get back to her birthday party because she wasn’t terribly interested in having her picture taken. But we did find a few things that caught her fancy.

Back in the Saddle!

For those of you who don’t live close enough to hear my screaming, I will tell you that it has been quite a week around here. I had an opportunity to test my photo backup system for the first time, and can happily report that it works great! There were a few tense days waiting for the back-up to be restored, but all of the photos (yours and mine) were safe and sound. And now it’s back to play… er work!

And look at the cutie I got to play with! This little girlie is 4 months old and I had so much fun with her and her family. I was laughing so hard it’s a wonder that any of the pictures turned out!

A nice way to spend a hot summer morning

I had a session with a new baby yesterday. Well, new to me. She is actually 8 months old and was just the perfect age for portraits. She was sitting up and full of personality, but not crawling yet. We were planning an outdoor shoot, but since it was 105 yesterday we moved it inside.

She wasn't too sure about the chair... maybe next time!

I’m so glad that we didn’t try and brave the heat at the Arboretum — although this girl would probably even look cute sweaty!
